We are looking forward to fun in February. We will be concentrating on name recognition, numbers and the color pink.

For Valentine’s Day please send in cards for everyone in the class. If you need a copy of names just let us know. We will have a sign-up sheet for what is needed. If anyone has a fun Valentine craft they would like to do with the children also let us know.
We enjoyed catching up with everyone during conferences. As always, if you have any questions or concerns please let us know!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2012 is going to be great year for room 6. We’d like to thank you all for the wonderful gifts we received for Christmas. We hope you had a Happy Holiday and are ready to get back to school.

We will be holding conferences January 16th. Please sign up on the sheet outside our door. We offer phone conferences, if you prefer, just note that on the sign-up sheet.
Until further notice we will NOT be having show and tell.
As the weather gets colder please change the clothing in your child’s bag and remember we do try to get outside everyday so appropriate outerwear is recommended. Also, familiarize yourself with the school closing procedure due to inclement weather.
We will be focusing on all things winter this month. We will also begin our Family Thursdays starting this month. For the last 15 minutes of class on Thursdays we invite you to come in the classroom and share a hobby/talent, talk about your occupation or read a story to the class. A sign-up sheet will be posted for this as well.

Thanks to everyone for your delicious contributions for our Thanksgiving Feast. Also, thank you to the parents who drove to the Tiny Tots concert with us. We appreciate all you do!
December will be a busy month in Room 6. As we celebrate the joys of the holiday season your children will be learning a variety of the traditions of the holiday.

November 2011
WOW! October was a busy month in room 6. The children enjoyed everything Halloween and it was so much fun to experience this time with them. Thank you to everyone for joining us for Open House, the Halloween Parade and contributing items to our celebration.
November will also be busy in our room with Thanksgiving festivities. We will be learning about families, foods and everything related to the holiday.

Dec 1st Tiny Tots Concert
Thanksgiving Celebration- Instead of the traditional turkey dinner, we are asking each family to bring a favorite dish to share with the class. There are no allergies in our room so anything goes..salads, appetizers, desserts, cultural dishes etc! Look for a sign-up sheet by our door soon.
Tiny Tots- We will be going to Woodson High School for this annual holiday tradition. We will need 4 (and only 4) drivers/chaperones. Please let us know if you are interested and we will get you the necessary information.
Thank you for your continued support ordering scholastic books! Our class has acquired many new books and cd’s through your orders.
The children learn many songs and finger plays through group music and in our classroom. Ask them to share with you!

We have made a wonderful and smooth transition into preschool. The children are learning the classroom rules and playing well together!
In October we will be learning about all things Halloween, fall, squirrels and the colors orange and black.

Please try to use Kiss and Ride. It is a great way to teach independence and most of the children are ready!
Thank you for all of the classroom donations and book orders. We appreciate everything we have already received.
Remember the weather is changing so please check their bags to make sure they have appropriate “extra” clothing for spills or accidents.
Show and Tell- we will start in October! Look for the calendar soon. We won’t have a particular theme but as a reminder no weapons, action figures or fragile items.
Snacks- Please make sure you have a bag or lunchbox to store your child’s food. Remember to label and date the snack for licensing purposes.
Please check the daily folder on a regular basis. We will be sending home another folder at the end of each month with all of their art work.
We are enjoying your children and hope preschool is as fun for them as it is to us! Please feel free to contact us with questions or concerns at any time!

General Curriculum and Daily Schedule are guidelines and subject to change during the year. Each month your child will receive a newsletter giving you details about classroom activities.
We will go outside every day that weather permits so please dress accordingly. We will also have the Big Room available to us on a daily basis.
Feel free to join us for chapel!
Each month we send home book orders. This is a fantastic way to purchase age appropriate books for your preschooler at very reasonable prices. We also receive special room materials and books for our classroom with each order.
Please check your child’s bag daily! Also, please include an extra pair of clothing in the bag for occasional messy days or accidents! Label everything!
We invite parents to our classroom throughout the year. Please join us with a special talent, hobby or just want to read a book!
If your child is going to be absent from school please call the office.

Welcome to Room 6
Please come join us on Tuesday, August 30th from 10:00-11:00 to meet your teachers and classmates. It would be helpful to the office if you bring in any forms that are still due. Also, we would like to have a picture of your child to put up in the room to help everyone remember names and faces for the first couple of weeks.
We are excited to see everyone and we look forward to a fun and exciting year of preschool!
