Thank you to all who supported the Team Lord of Life Race for the Cure bake sale. $270 was donated that will go to support the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. We hope you enjoyed the goodies made by the preschool staff. Race date is June 2 and you and your family are encouraged to consider walking with us.
Thank you to all for your support for our food collection for Food for Others. 167 pounds of food and $50 was collected for the organization at our annual Breakfast with Santa.

***Class info has been sent home and is on website. Procedure sheet will come home in mid January. Please feel free to ask the office about any of the classes. Also, your teaching team will be offering conference time in January and those conversations might also help with your planning for next year.
Kindergarten in Your Child’s Future?
Late January would be a good time to be in contact with the school your child will be attending. The elementary schools can do better planning when they know their enrollment numbers early. In addition most kindergarten programs have special spring activities for children and families who will be part of the Kindergarten program in the fall.
If your child is eligible to attend public school in the fall, but will not, the school needs to know that too.

“The Weather Outside is Frightful”
Please remember that if FCPS are closed, Lord of Life Preschool is closed.
If FCPS have a delayed opening, Lord of Life Preschool opens at 10 a.m. Classes dismiss at the regular times on those days. If there is early closing due to weather, the preschool dismisses at the regular time.
We try to get the children outside every day. Please send in hats and mittens. Mittens are easier for the children to manage than gloves.
Lunch Bunch
If you plan to use Lunch Bunch on January 3 or 4, please send the office an email by December 30 so we can get you on the list. 24 hour in advance sign up is recommended.
Please remember to always fill out an envelope for LB and note if you are using online payment.

Classroom newsletters are also posted on the website and outside of the classroom doors.

Thank you for sharing your delightful children with us. Everyone is working hard on adjustments to the routines.
Important dates to note in October
October 1 - Tuition Due. It is considered overdue October 10
October 10 - No school
October 20, 21 - School photos (more information to follow) Siblings who are both enrolled at LOL can be photographed together. Please let Mrs. DeLoose know. Photos do not have to be paid for in advance. The packet comes back in 4-6 weeks. Information on ordering will be available then. This is a major fundraiser for the preschool.
October 24, 26 - Evening open house for the entire family (more information to follow from your individual teacher)
A Few Financial Reminders
Checks should be made payable to LORD OF LIFE PRESCHOOL and put in the drop box at the downstairs preschool office OR can be mailed to the preschool. Please do not send the tuition in the tote bag. Teaching staff is not authorized to remove payments from the bags.

Food-Marvelous Food
We are seeing some good snacks and lunches coming in. Plus most are child friendly—the children can open and serve themselves. What a great way to encourage independence.
Thank you for trying to abide by the VDSS regulations regarding two part snacks and nutritious lunches. We do serve water, so drinks and drink boxes are not necessary. Also please do not send candy in the lunches.
Thank you for sending and labeling snack and Lunch Bunch food separately. It helps immensely. The office staff is looking forward to the day when we do not have to label any boxes when we do our morning check of lunches and snacks.
For PEANUT FREE rooms please remember to check the snack label. Also remember that Lunch Bunch is to always be Peanut Free on Thursday.
Halloween
We celebrate Halloween at Lord of Life. Each teacher will give you specific info about their celebrations. Here are some general guidelines:
- Children’s costumes should not be hot. Some of the fleece costumes are cute but the children overheat at school when they wear them.
- No weapons and no masks.
- Children need to be able to get in and out of their costumes with a minimum of help so that they can go to the bathroom

The preschool emergency policy is attached. It is also on the website. A hard copy can be provided. Please check at the office.

Thank you so to all who made your August payment on time.
Thank you to all who turned in paperwork. Those who owe the school forms received a letter by mail last week. Your child may not be able to begin school if we do not have all the required paperwork.
The medical form for new students only must be filled out by the doctor’s office. If your child has had a physical within the past 11 months, then that physical can be the one recorded on the form.
If your child has a food or medication allergy, please make sure you have gotten all needed forms from the office. Please note that a number of staff members have Medication Administration Training, however the training covered Epipens and did not cover Twinjets.
